Urban Cycle Pan Mass Challenge Spring Cycle-a-thon April 14, 2019 at 10:30am

The Pan Mass Challenge is an annual, 192 mile, two day bike ride across Massachusetts to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. 100% of the funds raised by each rider go directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  Each rider is required to raise a minimum of $ 5000.00.

Lisa Winsor, a member of the Urban Cycle community, is riding the Pan Mass Challenge, and Urban Cycle is hosting a Cycle-a-thon to raise money towards her fund raising efforts.

Urban Cycle’s PMC Spring Cycle-a-thon is an indoor charitable ride comprised of a 90-minute ride led by popular Urban Cycle spin instructors. As a “spoke in the wheel” of the Pan-Mass Challenge’s (PMC) yearly fundraising campaign, the Urban Cycle PMC Spring Cycle-a-thon brings together people of varying athletic ability and spin experience, who channel physical, mental and emotional energy to fight cancer by raising money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Dana-Farber).

The Pan Mass Challenge will be held August 4-5, 2019. Lisa has ridden the PMC almost every year since 2007, the year that she was diagnosed with stage 3 thyroid cancer. She has now passed the 10 year mark of living with cancer. Lisa is living proof of what cancer research can achieve. Although there is no cure for her cancer, current medications have kept her cancer in check, and she is able to lead an active life.
